In yesterday’s National Fall Huddle, we announced Giezy Ahumada, PM Care Partner at Carlton Senior Living — Elk Grove as our latest Fall Champion Hero. Each month SafelyYou is proud to celebrate and recognize true heroes on the front lines of senior living care staff, working tirelessly to create and maintain a safe environment for our loved ones.
“Giezy is an excellent example of how we would want anyone, especially Care Partners to react to a fall,” shares Andrea Quintanilla, Memory Care Care Manager and Giezy’s nominator. “She stays calm and ensures the resident safety until someone is available to evaluate the resident.”
Andrea shared a story about one particular day where two falls happened. Giezy immediately jumped into action and followed Carlton’s Fall Protocol perfectly. Andrea explained that “in the videos, you can see how she ensures each resident is ok and covered. She stayed with the residents until staff was able to assist them off the floor.” She shared that she’s “grateful that even though she is new to Carlton and our ways, she was able to act fast and appropriately to each situation!”
