SafelyYou fall experts developed these strategies by analyzing over 9k falls

Description

Did you know that 78% of falls occur between 6 p.m. and 6 a.m.? And the most common location prior to falls is the bed? It’s true. And with limited time to offer effective training programs, care providers need fall prevention strategies that provide results—and staff can learn in a short amount of time. That’s why SafelyYou has developed the Top 5 Fall Prevention Tactics You Can Train in 15 minutes for this month’s National Fall Huddle, so care providers can quickly in-service new staff or agency staff and help reduce the risk of unwitnessed falls by the bedside. These tactics were identified by analyzing over 9,000 falls, including both witnessed and unwitnessed falls. In this session, SafelyYou fall experts will give you insight into how to implement a 15-minute fall prevention training, including:

  • Mobility aid placement
  • Proper resident positioning in bed
  • Assessing bed height
  • Confirming resident preferences, toileting, and access
  • Assessing resident mood and readiness for bed
